HomeVentory ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the HomeVentory mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
Photos you take or upload to document your home inventory
Item descriptions, categories, and values you enter manually
Email address (if you sign up for early access or contact support)
Support ticket content (name, email, subject, message)
Information collected automatically:
Cryptographic keys generated locally on your device for authentication (no password required)
Scan usage data (number of scans performed) to manage your scan balance
Basic usage information for app functionality
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide the core inventory management features of the app
To run AI object detection on photos you submit
To maintain your scan balance and process purchases
To respond to support requests
To send product updates if you opted in via our early access list
3. Photos and Inventory Data
Photos you scan are sent to our servers solely for AI object detection. Detected items and your inventory data are stored using our distributed storage system and are associated with your cryptographic identity — not your name or email. You may delete your inventory data at any time from within the app.
4. Payment Information
HomeVentory uses Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. Payment processing is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Service providers — such as Stripe (payments) and our AI infrastructure — only as needed to operate the Service
Legal obligations — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users
6. Data Retention
Your inventory data is retained as long as you use the Service. Uploaded photos are retained on our servers for the purpose of displaying them within the app. If you delete an item, its associated photo may remain in our storage for a short period before being purged.

8. Children's Privacy
HomeVentory is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including cryptographic authentication and encrypted data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HomeVentory mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by HomeVentory ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Use of the Service
HomeVentory is a personal home inventory tool. You may use the Service to document, organize, and track items in your home. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
Use the Service for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose, including submitting false insurance claims
Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
Use the Service to store or transmit content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful
Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service without our written consent
2. Account and Authentication
HomeVentory uses cryptographic key-based authentication — no traditional username or password is required. Your cryptographic keys are generated and stored on your device. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and keys. We cannot recover lost keys or restore access to inventory data if your keys are lost.
3. Purchases and Scan Packs
HomeVentory offers in-app purchases including scan packs and model upgrades. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Scan credits do not expire and are tied to your cryptographic identity on your device.
HomeVentory uses AI object detection to identify items in photos. Detection results are estimates and may not be accurate. Estimated item values are for reference only and do not constitute appraisals or insurance valuations. You should verify inventory data independently before using it for insurance, legal, or financial purposes.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all photos and inventory data you create through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your photos and data solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it for advertising or training AI models.
6. Intellectual Property
The HomeVentory name, logo, app design, and all related technology are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the Service as described herein.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DETECTED ITEM INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any purchases.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
